Do they have lobster Cantonese?
I like this place but it can be very busy on Sundays for Dim Sum Sunday. Since it's downtown, it's really hard to find parking and you'll have to park pretty far. We got in line and then walked around to the nearby shops but we still had to wait. We needed up sitting at the bar. The food was delicious and the service was great. Highly recommend but I suggest to avoid coming on Sundays unless you don't mind waiting for awhile.
MoreLove this place. The service is always amazing and the food is great! The lines do get long on weekends so get there early. They only take reservations for groups 8+ during their peak times.
MoreDa Hong Pao offers a large menu of classic Chinese (especially Cantonese) dishes along with dim sum. The restaurant is located on the 14th St Corridor in an unassuming location. Inside, you'll find large dining tables, a full bar, and lots of staff running around. Da Hong Pao is a solid choice for Chinese food in DC. Dishes were flavorful and came out very quickly. They're open everyday and even late into the evening. It can get crowded during popular days and times so plan ahead.
MoreHad an amazing lunch here a few weeks ago. So good that i have gone back twice with different friends. All agree this is an amazing restaurant. Highly recommend.
MoreThe best crispy chicken I have ever had! The price is reasonable, half chicken for 15 dollars, would feed two people easily. I recommend it.
MoreThis place is so much fun if you're a dim sum fan. They have the iconic carts with a wide variety of options, though not everything from the picture menu. I was surprised by how delicious the string beans were. Everything we ordered was great and very on-par for dim sum, and the Peking duck was fun since you don't always see that. The translucent shrimp dumplings were delicious! I'm a huge fan of sesame balls, and these did not disappoint. The restaurant was very loud and some of the dishes were a little salty, but it was a wonderful experience and we definitely might come back again.Update: came again, had another fantastic experience. The chicken buns were so flavorful, I would recommend them over the pork buns.
MoreGave it a four for the service. The food only deserves a three star. It is not common to see waiters being able to speak English, Cantonese and mandarin fluently in a Chinese restaurant. It is interesting that they have both push cart and allow you to order on menu. The baked roast pork bun was too dry and the stuffing wasn’t good at all. The steam ribs was very bland. The beef chow fun was the highlight of the meal.
MoreI’v been here many times and never get disappointed in terms of food and service. I usually come here before 11am so i’ve never got any problem getting a table. I always order a lot of things but shrimp ball, chicken feet, fried shrimp, shumai, fried taro and pineapple buns are “a must”. They also keep refilling my water and hot tea. One of the best dim sum places in DC.
MoreThe food was absolutely delicious! I had the crispy chicken with golden garlic. It is, I believe, the best-tasting chicken I have had at an Asian restaurant. Simply wonderful! The staff was attentive, very friendly and informative. We will without a doubt be back!
MoreThe only place in DC proper that you can get real authentic lunch dim sum. All the major dim sum staples are here for lunch with the carts. I haven’t been able to find anything comparable within DC. Always lots of Chinese people there too which is a good sign for authenticity. They also have the regular “American” style Chinese food as well. Very clean restaurant and friendly staff
MoreSolid Chinese in dc - dim sum is only served for lunch, but they still have decent Chinese dishes and dumplings you can get for dinner. Service was great, super friendly and recommended great dishes.
MoreAuthentic cart service dim sum! Both times I've been here I've been impressed with the quality of the food. They also have an excellent selection of non-dim sum dishes (although why would you order those? My friend liked them though) The tea is also good.
